This exceptionally old and rare ‘tea-spooned’ malt pays homage to the founding fathers of the ‘Double Wood’. Maturing whisky in a second style of cask was first developed at the Balvenie Distillery in the 1980s. It is this process that inspires our team today, as we further explore the Art of Maturation.
First filled into ex-bourbon hogsheads, our whisky team have doffed their caps to an iconic Speysider with an exquisite second maturation in compact 64-litre PX Sherry octaves. After its final 18 months in these luscious casks, we present a regal dram, fit for a king!
Nose: Honied malt, melon, candied citrus
Palate: Lemon cake, peach, fresh leather
Finish: Floral, sweet grass, mellow spice
