Ardnamurchan Sauternes Cask Release (Peated)

Notes from the Distillery:
A sequel of sorts to last year’s AD/Sauternes Cask Release, which went down a storm, this year’s edition sees us utilising our peated distillate finished in Sauternes barriques for the first time ever.
A vatting of 29 casks from 2018, all of which started life in bourbon casks and have been finished in Sauternes casks for about 3.5 years. This time round you can expect that luscious, golden, mouth-filling texture, amped up by the cask types, but grounded in earthy, coastal peat. A dram to savour as the summer draws to a close.
Bottled at 50% ABV, non-chill filtered and natural colour; The global out-turn is around 8,460 bottles.

NOSE
Lime leaf, lemon balm, shortbread, hay bales. Pineapple upside-down-cake, desiccated coconut, crème de pêche. Stem ginger syrup, pencil shavings, tobacco.

PALATE
Nutmeg, dried ginger, orange blossom water. Smoked manuka honey, lemon meringue pie, salted cashew nuts. Tajin seasoning, Creamola foam, Tizer. Hickory wood, farmy smoke, earthy depth.

FINISH
Spicy, punchy, bright. A luscious, decadent dram.
