Loch Lomond Inchmurrin 12

Notes from the Distillery:

Loch Lomond Inchmurrin 12 year old is distilled in our unique straight neck stills to create a distinctive lighter whisky with subtle floral notes.

Aged in three types of casks and vatted together, this expression showcases a sweet and rich malt character with underlying fruit and warming spice.

Distinctively fruity with pear drops and toffee sweetness. Light notes of freshly cut hay in summer sun.

Seville orange citrus notes build in intensity before mellowing into softer fruits of peach and apricot. The fruit character gives way to creamy fudge and vanilla.

Medium length with peppery finish.

ABV 46%

The enchanting isle of Inchmurrin is the largest of the Loch Lomond’s islands and was once home to the chapel built by Christian monks in the 7th century. Known as the ‘Grassy Isle’ it is soft, rounded and wonderfully wooded – attributes sought after in many a malt.

It is somewhat fitting that the ‘grassy isle’ lends its name to this exquisite 12 year old single malt. Unique as the island itself with grassy notes and floral hints of pear drops, crème caramel, soft fruits, vanilla and fudge. Aged in three hand-selected types of cask – bourbon, refill and recharred – these whiskies are then married together in a balance known only to our Master Blender, Michael Henry.
