Maclean’s Nose (Adelphi)

Borne from the team at Ardnamurchan Distillery and IB Adelphi, Maclean’s Nose is their take on an old-fashioned, high malt content, Blended Scotch Whisky.
The name gives reference to their long established partnership with their “Chief Nose”, Charles Maclean, as well as the Ardnamurchan landmark which just so happens to share his name.
Blended to have a West Coast Character with both a high malt content (70%) and a high proportion of ex-sherry casks.
Interestingly, the label uses crushed barley paper, made from a byproduct of whisky production.
It is bottled at a delightful 46% ABV, non-chill filtered, and of natural colour.

Nose
Burnt citrus peel, sea salt, bonfire. Nectarine syrup, lime marmalade, hay bales, coal bunker and oily shed.

Palate
Puffed rice, homemade rice pudding and white chocolate. Bright citrus lime pickle. Chantilly cream and Viennetta ice cream. Ferrero Rocher. Hessian. Burning heather and smoked praline.
