Ben Nevis 11 year old Hepburns choice

Ben Nevis is a whisky that is slowly appearing more and more via the Independant bottling lines and we love the fact that this is the case. This distillery situated in the West Highlands and is owned by the Asahi Group, makers of the Nikka range of Japanese whiskies. Until lately Ben Nevis spirit was produced for single malt, blending and also to be used in Nikka blends but recent changes in Japanese Whisky Regulations mean that this will no longer be allowed, which in turn hopefully means more Ben Nevis for us to enjoy.

A Single cask Ben nevis from Hepburns Choice, distilled in 2011 then matured for 11 years in a sherry butt. Bottled with no added colour or chill-filtration. One of 880 bottles.

Expect notes of sweet marmalade, caramel and honey. In the mouth, sweet candied citrus and floral honey lead the way, with a touch of ginger, and biscuity malt beneath with soft oak and spice in the finish.
